The annual Alacero conference has taken place since 1959 and brings together the largest steelmaking and industrial companies from across the world. The Expo Alacero also takes place as part of the trade fair.

The event, which saw more than 800 industry representatives and specialists attending from across the globe, provided a unique opportunity for attendees to familiarise themselves with upcoming trends and technological developments and to speak with the leading global suppliers of equipment for the steelmaking industry.

The main themes of the 2019 conference were environmental protection, sustainable development, digital transformation, and the development of metallurgical production in Latin America.

Alongside Metalloinvest, leading international companies also took part this year, including ArcelorMittal, NLMK Group, Russula, Ternium amongst others.

Metalloinvest demonstrated a wide array of its own products at the trade fair, including pellets and HBI, and SBQ rolled steel (premium-quality rolled steel).

Oleg Krestinin, Executive Director of Metalloinvest Trading AG, said: “Over the course of the trade fair, Metalloinvest specialists held talks with our key foreign partners Ternium, Aceros Arequipa S.A., and Gerdau Metaldom and discussed further cooperation. We also took part in scientific and technical conferences and discussions dedicated to the topics of the economic situation in Latin America and the development of the steelmaking industry in the region.”
