HD Hyundai construction equipment happens to be enhancing its presence across the Indonesian mining sector by way of a strategic partnership with Hasnur Group, which is one of Indonesia’s leading mining companies.

On the 19th of June 2025, a memorandum of understanding was inked at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment’s campus in Ulsan, with key representatives coming from both companies. The ceremony went on to include Choi Cheol-gon, the president of HD Hyundai construction equipment, as well as Jayanti Sari, the Hasnur Group president.

With the signature on this MOU, the two companies went on to reach an agreement with regard to the following initiatives:

– Supplying of the mining equipment

– Development when it comes to comprehensive mining solutions

– Creation of electric excavators

– Establishment in terms of site management systems in order to foster maximum solutions concerning mining management

Apparently, Hasnur Group is going to receive equipment from HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and is going to share the functional data in order to develop solutions so as to enhance the efficiency of the equipment. HD Hyundai construction equipment also plans to supply mining machinery to the Hasnur Group, but in phases by way of starting with large wheel loaders. The company looks forward to proposing strategies in terms of optimizing the mining operations, which are based on data that is collected from the site.

Moreover, it will also develop a comprehensive total mining solution, which has in it the equipment supply, site management systems, and also maintenance.

It is well to be noted that the field test, which is required for electrified equipment that includes electric excavators, is going to be conducted by Hasnur Group’s mines in order to speed up the technological growth as well as develop an electrification spectrum.

Interestingly, Indonesia happens to be the home to the largest nickel reserves in the world and has, over a period of time, a steady demand when it comes to mining equipment, which is driven by diverse strategic mineral resources like cobalt and tin.

As per 6Wresearch, the global market research firm, the mining equipment market in Indonesia is anticipated to reach almost $2.5 billion by 2025, and there is an annual growth rate of 8.1% till 2031, which is expected.

By way of this collaboration, HD Hyundai construction equipment looks forward to strengthening its foothold when it comes to the Indonesian mining market and also, at the same time, expanding its global presence within the mining equipment sector. The president of Hyundai Construction Equipment, Choi Cheol-gon, went on to state that this partnership is going to mark a turning point for them and will be more than just supplying equipment. It is going to enhance their capabilities when it comes to mining site operation solutions and at the same time help with the development of the electrification ecosystem. He added that they do aspire to become a comprehensive solution provider who is grounded in digital technology across the global mining market.

HD Hyundai construction equipment, meanwhile, has gone on to launch excavators, which are equipped with rock rippers so as to crush rocks, and also wheel loaders with fork attachments to take care of stone transportation. Apparently, the company is also focusing on the development of a 140-ton-class super-large excavator.
