Critical Minerals Expo North America, Battery Recycling Expo North America and E-Waste World Expo North America arrive in Atlanta on October 28/29, 2026, bringing together the organizations shaping North America’s critical resource value chain.

Registration is now open for the 2026 editions of Critical Minerals Expo North America, Battery Recycling Expo North America and E-Waste World Expo North America, taking place at the Cobb Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The co-located B2B exhibitions and conferences arrive at a significant moment for North America’s industrial landscape. As investment continues across critical minerals, advanced processing, manufacturing and recycling infrastructure, industries across the economy are working to strengthen domestic production, secure reliable material supply and recover more value from end-of-life resources. From battery manufacturing and electric vehicles to semiconductors, aerospace, defense, renewable energy, telecommunications and advanced technologies, access to secure critical mineral supply chains is becoming increasingly important for the industries shaping North America’s future.

Atlanta provides a fitting backdrop for those conversations. Georgia has become one of the cornerstones of the rapidly expanding U.S. Battery Belt, with billions of dollars invested in battery and electric vehicle manufacturing in recent years. More broadly, Battery Belt states have attracted well over $48 billion in announced clean energy manufacturing investment since 2021, helping establish the Southeast as one of North America’s fastest-growing industrial regions for battery production, advanced manufacturing and critical minerals processing.

Against this backdrop, the co-located events will welcome more than 1,500 industry professionals, 150 exhibitors and 60 expert speakers, creating a meeting place for organisations involved in mining, processing, manufacturing, metals recovery, electronics recycling, IT asset disposition (ITAD), equipment supply, technology development and policymaking across the critical minerals and circular economy value chains.

A single complimentary registration provides access to all three exhibitions and conference programmes across both days, reflecting the growing connection between critical minerals, battery recycling and electronics recycling as industries work towards building more resilient domestic supply chains and a stronger circular economy.

Together, the three events provide visitors with a broader perspective of how critical minerals move through the value chain, from extraction and processing through to manufacturing, recovery and recycling. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet mining and mineral processing specialists, battery recycling companies, electronics recyclers, equipment manufacturers, technology providers and material recovery experts working across the industry’s rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Confirmed exhibitors already include SGS, Metso, Aurubis, Steinert, Primobius, Stadler, ERI, Full Circle Electronics, Umicore and Veolia, with additional exhibitors continuing to join the floorplan ahead of the event.

More than 60 industry experts will deliver technical presentations, market updates and panel discussions across three dedicated conference theatres, exploring issues including:

Critical mineral supply chains, geopolitical risk, permitting, domestic refining capacity and investment

Battery collection, transportation, end-of-life management, black mass processing, lithium-ion battery recycling and second-life applications

Electronics recycling, IT asset disposition (ITAD), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), circular economy strategies and the development of domestic recycling infrastructure

The event has already secured support from industry associations and strategic partners across the critical minerals, battery and recycling sectors. Industry partners include the Battery Council International, Critical Minerals Institute, Critical Minerals Association USA, Coalition for American Electronics Recycling, National Center for Electronics Recycling and the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance, alongside an international advisory board comprising recognised leaders from across the critical resource value chain.

Peter Sarno, Event Director at Trans-World Events, commented:

“Five years ago, these industries largely saw themselves as separate markets. Today, they’re part of one much bigger conversation. North America’s focus on strengthening domestic supply chains of critical minerals has highlighted just how connected mining, processing and recycling have become. The materials needed for tomorrow’s economy won’t come from a single source; they’ll come from a combination of responsible extraction, smarter processing and recovering more value from the resources already in circulation. That’s the conversation we’re bringing to Atlanta.”

The co-located events are designed to connect decision-makers involved in mining, refining, battery manufacturing, electronics recycling, IT asset disposition, metals recovery, equipment manufacturing, technology development and public policy.

Registration is now open.

Further announcements, including additional exhibitors, conference sessions and keynote speakers, will be released over the coming weeks.
The post Registration Opens for North America’s Leading Critical Resources Events as Atlanta Takes Centre Stage in October 2026 appeared first on Mining Frontier.

Hitachi Construction Machinery and Pronto have entered into a strategic partnership to speed-up open-mine automation solutions by means of a memorandum of understanding – MoU. The partnership will see the two companies combine to offer standard automation solutions to customers with a wider range of choice to solve problems ranging from enhancing mining operations to adjusting to evolving business settings.

It is well to be noted that mining companies are increasingly looking for feasible and scalable methods to boost safety and efficiency and to deal with labor shortages. They are particularly interested to speed-up open-mine automation solutions, which can be easily applied depending on the operational circumstances of every mine while maximizing current equipment and technologies from various manufacturers without being overly dependent on one technology platform or vendor infrastructure. Hitachi Construction Machinery and Pronto contend that an open framework that combines professional knowledge in mining equipment, mining operations, digital technologies as well as automation technologies to adapt flexibly solutions to the particular requirements of each mine is the solution to meeting these demands.

This partnership, apparently, will play to the advantages of both companies. Hitachi Construction Machinery has been supporting mining activities around the world for a long time by means of the supply of mining equipment and has extensive experience in mining activities along with a global customer base. In preparation for its transition to the LANDCROS brand in April 2027, Hitachi Construction Machinery is advocating co-creation by publicly connecting products and technologies as well as partners to provide new value to customers.

Pronto, on the other hand, is the world’s leading OEM-agnostic Autonomous Haulage System – AHS. Its market-leading, tiered AHS range upgrades standard haul trucks from any brand and scales from regional mines to ultra-class, deep-pit activities. The systems from Pronto have self-sufficiently moved millions of tonnes when it comes to commercial mixed-fleet operations with installations on three continents. The mission of the company is to make fully autonomous haulage practical, cost-effective, and accessible to every single mining operation across the entire world.

Both the companies will combine their knowledge in mining operations and mining equipment as well as automation technologies in order to generate new opportunities for mining clients.

According to Hitachi Construction Machinery President and Executive Officer Masafumi Senzaki, “For decades, we have worked alongside mining customers around the world and have developed a deep understanding of their diverse needs and the challenges they face. Through our collaboration with Pronto, we will combine Hitachi Construction Machinery’s equipment expertise with advanced automation technologies to provide customers with greater flexibility and options in adopting automation solutions. This partnership represents an important step in realizing the desire embodied in the “O” of LANDCROS—to openly co-create new businesses and value with customers and partners across the mining industry and to grow together.”

Anthony Levandowski, Pronto Chief Executive Officer, says that “mine operators have been clear: they want automation that works with the fleets they already own, not another closed, single-vendor ecosystem. Pronto has proven OEM-agnostic autonomous haulage at commercial scale, and Hitachi Construction Machinery brings decades of mining equipment leadership, a global customer base, and an open autonomy vision that we share. Together, we can give every mining operation a practical, affordable path to autonomy.”
The post Collaboration to Speed-Up Open-Mine Automation Solutions appeared first on Mining Frontier.

Hyundai Engineering has taken an important step toward growing its global critical minerals business by formally entering the $2bn North American critical minerals market via participation in the Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project located in the United States’ Nevada.

The company entered into an MOU along with Ioneer, the Australian critical minerals developer, in order to provide purchasing services for the large-scale mining and processing project, thereby emphasizing its pledge of supporting the fast-growing electric vehicle – EV battery as well as clean energy supply chains.

The agreement was signed in Washington, D.C., after a Letter of Intent – LoI was exchanged between both companies in June 2026. The MOU also defines the extent of cooperation and specifies the role of Hyundai Engineering in the procurement and sourcing of important equipment and materials necessary for the progress of the project. Senior government and industry representatives from both South Korea and the United States were present at the signing ceremony, pointing out the strategic significance of the project in enhancing critical mineral supply chains.

Attendees included officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea, the Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation – KIND, the U.S. Department of Energy – DoE, Hyundai Engineering and Ioneer.

Valued at about $2 billion, the Rhyolite Ridge project is located in Nevada and is acknowledged as the largest known lithium-boron deposit in North America. Apparently, it is one of the few deposits in the world that is able to commercially produce lithium and boron from a single ore body, which is indeed a strategic asset for the transition to energy. Owned by Ioneer, which is Sydney, Australia-based, the project will employ advanced process optimization technologies in order to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate as well as boric acid right at the mine site.

It is well to be noted that this integrated production approach will boost operational efficiency while supporting the increasing demand for critical minerals essential for electric vehicle batteries, electronics, and industrial applications as well as renewable energy storage systems.

Interestingly, the project has already reached a range of important goals. It secured its last federal permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in October 2024, completing the main regulatory authorization process after almost 10 years of environmental evaluations and project planning.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Energy has committed roughly $1 billion in funding, pointing out the crucial role of the project when it comes to reducing the reliance on imported critical minerals and also boosting domestic supply chains. Regulatory approvals have been obtained, financial support is on track, and the project is progressing into its construction along with operating development phase.

Under the partnership, Hyundai Engineering will take charge of purchasing activities for key equipment and industrial systems as well as construction materials. The company sees the project as an important starting point to further develop its engineering and procurement expertise in the $2bn North American critical minerals market. Hyundai Engineering intends to use its experience, in addition to supporting the Nevada development, to win further global contracts for processing lithium, rare earths, and other strategic minerals.

The partnership could also get a lift from KIND, which is looking into a possible equity investment in the effort. This involvement would strengthen collaborative efforts between the South Korean government, policy finance organizations, and private companies and improve long-term accessibility to important raw materials when it comes to Korean industries.

As per Hyundai Engineering, its involvement in Rhyolite Ridge development constitutes a major achievement as it coincides with the efforts made by the U.S. government to create resilient and varied critical mineral supply chains.

The company reiterated its dedication to the successful delivery of the project and to broadening its position in the global critical minerals infrastructure segment.

Hyundai Engineering continues to bolster its expanded engineering portfolio in other domains. Just recently, the company finished the Rene Square project located in the Euljiro 3-ga District 6 redevelopment zone in Seoul, demonstrating its knowhow when it comes to large-scale urban construction as well as its growing presence throughout industrial and energy infrastructure projects.

The lithium-boron project from Rhyolite Ridge has the potential to strengthen the long-term supply outlook when it comes to lithium carbonate as well as boric acid in North America, contributing to the growing electric vehicle market in the region, in addition to energy storage, glass, ceramics, fertilizer, as well as specialty chemical industries.

The project will have little immediate effect in its construction stage, but when completed, it will lower dependence on imported lithium products and enhance regional supply safety. More domestic production may improve supply chain resilience and mitigate future supply limitations. As new production capability comes on stream, supply risks might drop, contributing to lower price volatility along with procurement uncertainty. Overall, the project should encourage relatively stable to moderately downward pricing patterns for lithium-related chemicals and a more robust supply chain for critical minerals within North America.
The post Hyundai Enters $2bn North American Critical Minerals Market appeared first on Mining Frontier.

Lake Victoria Gold Ltd. is advancing the Tanzanian regulatory process, which includes registration by the Bank of Tanzania, for its previously disclosed gold loan facility of a maximum of 6,000 ounces amounting to US$25 million with Monetary Metals, a non-dilutive financing for its entirely permitted Imwelo Gold Project.

It is well to be noted that for a junior gold developer, the financing of a mine is just as important as the ore within the ground. If one were to raise too much equity at an incorrect price, it would lead to diluting shareholders into irrelevance before the first pour of gold. On June 25, 2026, Lake Victoria Gold Ltd. gave details on a financing plan intended to avoid precisely that trap – advancing the Tanzanian regulatory procedure for a gold loan facility with Monetary Metals & Co. of as much as 6,000 ounces of gold approximately $25 million in order to fund its entirely permitted Imwelo Gold Project.

The update is procedural in nature. A procedure is the method used in the development phase of mining. The company said it continues to make progress with the Bank of Tanzania registration and the associated regulatory registration as well as notification workstreams that are necessary to bring the facility online – the unglamorous administration that transforms a signed term sheet into funded capital. The facility, launched on April 1, 2026, is designed to offer non-dilutive project-level funding minus the need for a large equity raise when it comes to the project level.

Why Gold-Denominated Is the Entire Point

The facility is defined as the one being in gold ounces and repaid in gold ounces. Instead of borrowing dollars, which need to be repaid in dollars irrespective of what gold does, LVG would go on to draw and pay back in the commodity Imwelo is getting built to produce. That alignment matters – it aligns the financing commitment with the future output of the project so the loan as well as the mine move together instead of at cross purposes. Monetary Metals specializes in this exact thing gold-backed lending, which earns a yield on gold, in gold, via its Gold Yield Marketplace platform.

The President, CEO & Director of Lake Victoria Gold, Marc Cernovitch, characterized the progress with the Tanzanian regulatory process as being both company-specific as well as nationally significant, stating that “Advancing the Tanzanian regulatory process for the Monetary Metals facility is an important and positive step for Lake Victoria Gold. This facility remains a central component of our non-dilutive funding strategy for Imwelo and reflects the type of disciplined, project-level capital structure we believe is appropriate for a near-term gold development project. We also believe this facility has broader significance for Tanzania, as it would represent one of the first structured gold-denominated project financing facilities of its kind in the country, demonstrating how gold-linked capital can support responsible mine development while preserving shareholder value.”

Cernovitch added that “We are taking the right steps in the right order: working through the Bank of Tanzania process, engaging with the relevant Tanzanian authorities, and ensuring the facility is implemented in a manner that is consistent with Tanzanian law, our development plan, and our obligations as a public company. Imwelo is fully permitted, our in-country team is being strengthened, and our focus remains on execution.”

Founder and CEO of Monetary Metals, Keith Weiner, says that “it is important that the foundational steps are completed properly and in full coordination with the relevant authorities.”

Regulatory Workstreams in Progress

The company states that it is making advancements in the ordinary course by working together throughout many existing Tanzanian regulatory and administrative workstreams that are required for a cross-border, gold-denominated facility of this kind. The key steps involve the registration of the external facility with the Bank of Tanzania, which apparently includes the obtaining of a Debt Registration Number, engagement along with the Mining Commission in regard to Mining License ML 538/2015 and gold delivery mechanics of the facility, alignment of mineral marketing, royalty as well as export clearance for subsequent gold sales, standard shipments, royalty payments along with export procedures and definitive documentation and execution of the planning with Monetary Metals as well as appropriate Tanzanian and international advisers.

Completion of the facility stays subject to fulfillment of applicable regulatory permits and registrations as well as notifications, fulfillment of definitive documentation, finalization of execution mechanics, and other usual closing requirements. And in other words, this is a landmark on the way, not the end itself, and the company stated that it intends to offer additional updates as the workstreams progress.

The Asset That Secures the Financing

Imwelo is a completely permitted gold project based in the prolific Lake Victoria Goldfield of Tanzania, to the west of Geita Gold Mine from AngloGold Ashanti. Imwelo is held via the wholly owned Tanzanian subsidiary of LVG, Tembo Gold-T Limited, holder of Mining License ML 538/2015. The company characterizes it as a short-term development possibility, fully approved when it comes to mine construction and production, and is moving forward with engineering, procurement preparation, and financing endeavors simultaneously as it moves toward construction preparedness.

Lake Victoria Gold also owns 100% of the Tembo project, which is contiguous to the Bulyanhulu Mine of Barrick and has had over 50000 metres of drilling. The company highlights validation through equity investment from Barrick and strategic collaboration along with the Taifa Group, which is the largest mining contractor based out of Tanzania, which will undertake contract mining & construction as well as civil works at Imwelo. Management, directors, and partners hold over 60% of the shares, an alignment of interests that development-stage investors often look forward to having.

A key disclaimer is that although Imwelo has had JORC-compliant PEA, PFS, and updated PFS work carried out on it, these foreign-code studies are not present under NI 43-101 of Canada, and the company has not finished a feasibility study defining mineral reserves. Hence a choice to start production will not be determined by a feasibility study of mineral reserves, that entails greater uncertainty and risk of economic or technical failure.

There is no certainty that the planned low-capex open-pit operation is going to be viable economically or that production will take place as planned.

The Greater Trade – African Gold and Capital Related to Gold

LVG sits at the crossroads of two investor capital themes, near-term African gold development as well as cutting-edge gold-linked financing. Four names help to frame that landscape, although each has its own risk profile, and no one is a substitute for LVG. Orezone Gold provides a useful financing structure comparison – The West African producer has recently poured its first hard-rock ore at the enlargement of its Bomboré mine in Burkina Faso into commercial production, thereby reporting record first-quarter 2026 earnings, and particularly financed growth partly with a US$100 million gold stream, a similar family of gold-linked, non-dilutive capital LVG is pursuing.

Another near-term builder-turned-producer happens to be Robex Resources, which attained commercial production at the Kiniero Gold Mine located in Guinea in early 2026, funded in part by means of a senior secured facility, demonstrating the trajectory from construction financing to cash flow, which LVG is targeting at Imwelo. Royal Gold is the funding side of the equation at scale – being one of the biggest gold-focused royalty and streaming companies in the world, recently grown through its purchase of Sandstorm Gold Royalties, it is the institutional framework for giving miners non-dilutive, gold-linked capital in return for future metal, the wide category into which Monetary Metals facility of LVG fits.

It is worth noting that a key player is an African-focused producer, Perseus Mining, which happens to be developing its 80%-owned Nyanzaga project within the same Lake Victoria Goldfield as Imwelo – the first significant new gold mine development in Tanzania in almost two decades, with first gold planned for early 2027. Perseus is an example of the reawakened institutional demand for Tanzanian gold and the magnitude of capital flowing into the LVG-operated belt.

The Final Word

Of course, moving forward on regulations is not the same as concluding a funding deal, and Lake Victoria Gold is still at the stage of development and not yet in production. But the structure here is the story – a gold project in an important African gold jurisdiction, funded in gold itself, in a way that is intended to maintain shareholder value instead of eroding it. The Bank of Tanzania workstreams and closing the Monetary Metals facility by LVG would not just fund progress by Imwelo to construction, but they might also create a financing blueprint for a whole country’s gold sector. Now the indicators to watch out for are regulatory steps being completed, conclusive documentation, and the transition from approval to funded capital.
The post Imwelo Gold Project, A Tanzania Gold Mine to Be Gold Funded appeared first on Mining Frontier.

Exploration company KEFI Gold and Copper – KEFI signs $400m mining services contract with BCM Group in Ethiopia for Tulu Kapi Gold Project.

As per this nine-year mining services contract, BCM is going to provide a variety of mining services comprising the mining fleet, training, and managing locally hired operators.

It will additionally oversee all mining operations under the supervision of the Ethiopian subsidiary of KEFI, Tulu Kapi Gold Mines Share Company.

According to Paul Coe, BCM Group CEO, “BCM is a pioneering mining services group that expanded from Western Australia into West Africa more than 30 years ago. We are proud to support the development of Ethiopia’s mining sector alongside KEFI, particularly given our shared experience of successfully establishing mining projects in emerging jurisdictions, including the Middle East.”

Notably, the contract was concluded in London during the first Ethio-British Investment Forum, which was attended by Gedion Timothewos Hessebon, Ethiopia’s minister of foreign affairs.

Before this agreement, BCM had already mobilized in Ethiopia to offer bulk earthworks and drilling services to the project.

Now that the deal is done, BCM can go ahead with the ordering and deployment of a Caterpillar mining fleet for full-scale work at the site.

Says KEFI executive chairman Harry Anagnostaras-Adams, “Today’s Ethio-British Investment Forum marks an important milestone in the development of Ethiopia’s private sector and international investment profile. Mining has already emerged as Ethiopia’s leading export-generating sector, yet the industry is only beginning to unlock its vast potential.”

Apparently, mining is already the largest export-earning sector of the country, but the industry is only starting to get to know its massive potential.

It is well to be noted that the Tulu Kapi Gold Project has a likely ore reserve of 1.05 million ounces and a mineral resource of 1.72 moz of gold.

KEFI is working on the site with the Ethiopian government, with which it entered into a mining contract in April 2015.

Interestingly, Gold was initially discovered and mined in small amounts by an Italian consortium at Tulu Kapi in the 1930s.
The post KEFI Signs Mining Services Contract of $400m With BCM Group appeared first on Mining Frontier.
